I know it's been quite a long time since I've posted on the blog so I wanted to come on here with a few updates and things to come!
First off, I hope everyone had a marvelous summer. It's been insanely hot in South Florida and I am looking forward to cooler temperatures, pumpkin spiced everything, and being able to go outside without sweating. School is back in session not just for parents but also those in college. I'm hoping everyone has a great semester full of getting things done and not feeling insanely overwhelmed (like I did last Fall). It's been almost a year from graduating college/Yoga Teacher Training and I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for the insanely supportive group of friends and family members that helped make those goals possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Secondly, we have quite a few updates regarding the Okeechobee Yoga Group meet ups!
It gives me great pleasure to announce that we are moving from Indian River State College to Studio 13 Dance Academy in Okeechobee! I met with Alexis last week and had our first meet up at the new location this past Tuesday. It was a blast! Thank you to all the kind souls that came out to our new space.
Studio 13 Dance Academy is located in the Cedar Plaza at 2827 SW 3rd Terrace in Okeechobee, right next to Time to Escape. Alexis teaches ballet, tumbling, tap, competitive, and jazz classes throughout the week and her schedule is to the left! Feel free to message her via Facebook or stop by for information about how to register your child for her dance classes!
Not only are we changing locations but also times! Effective immediately we will start classes at 6:15pm and go until 7:30-7:40pm. As always feel free to send me a text message if you're running a little behind and I can set up a space for you. If, for whatever reason, you have to leave before the best part of the class (Savasana), please do so in a quiet manner and remember to take some time for yourself afterwards.
As with the location/time change, other things will be changing as well! The next blog post on my website will be a segment explaining the Okeechobee Yoga Group etiquette. This is just a friendly reminder to our existing yogis and an introduction to our newest tribe members! I have these printed out so feel free to grab one at the next meet up.
This next OYG update is one that I didn't necessarily want to post about but I want to clarify a few things. I want people to know that I understand times get tough. I don't ever want money to be the factor that keeps you from coming out. I put in a lot of effort to make sure I teach quality yoga classes. I guess what I'm trying to say is regardless of when you can donate, please don't take advantage of my "by donation" classes by thinking they're free.
Lastly, I will begin posting weekly to bi-weekly blog posts on certain poses, yoga tips/tricks, prop reviews, and other miscellaneous topics for you to enjoy. If there are any requests on things you want me to cover, please post them below! I'll be interested in hearing what you want to see so feel free to email me at email@example.com with questions or ideas.
That's all for now! Be on the lookout for the next post!
